The mockbuster Monster Island 2019, released by The Asylum around the same period as Godzilla King of the Monsters is about an Island called Monster Island. Here a monster can be found, who could then become the Monster Island.


Because this movie is about an asylum, the budget is roughly equivalent to a (Monster Island Asylum movie) big kid's dinner. The film uses it well. The movie focuses on a few main characters, and all sequences are shot on one set. Nevertheless, lest we forget, this is the kaiju genre, and, well, that is sort of how they go, so maybe The Asylum won't do such an awful job with it.
